The Day After
Friday, November 28, 2008 14:09 No CommentsIt’s the day after Thanksgiving and although you may have had the best of intentions going into yesterday on how not to give in to too many temptations, you may have found it a little difficult… I’m here today to…
The Single Most Important Factor in Sticking with Exercise…
Friday, November 28, 2008 10:49 1 CommentIt seems like a cruel irony. The majority of those who suffer from low self-esteem are the ones who stand to benefit the most from exercise. Self-esteem (self-efficacy) appears to be make-or-break factor when it comes to exercise adherence. In fact, a recent study showed self-efficacy alone boosted exercise adherence by 139% over the course of a year. Let’s take…

Happy Thanksgiving! (11.27.08)
Friday, November 28, 2008 4:01 No CommentsHappy Thanksgiving! I had a great day with my family and enjoyed lots of good food and dessert — I hope you did too! Putting together a whole day worth of eating is a big task but my sister did an awesome job…here is the proud chef with her beautifully cooked turkey.![]()
Will stole the show in his new outfit (courtesy of his Nana & Aunt) and enjoyed a full day of being held, rocked and fed!![]()
Bruce stayed busy with his buddy Curtis…and they both kept an eye out for any scraps that may have fallen their way!![]()
Although there is still some baby weight to be lost, I didn’t worry about that today. I enjoyed all that we made because so much effort went into making it and I think I eat healthy enough most days to take a day here and there where I don’t think about the nutritional value of my intake (even if I am sharing it with the world wide web). All of our meal was homemade so we controlled what went into it which I am sure made it a little healthier than some of the processed/premade items but like I said, I really didn’t think about that today. We started our day off with some appetizers (an antipasto plater). ![]()
Then we moved onto the main meal. We had fruit salad with sherbet to start and our thanksgiving menu included all the classics: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing (two kinds – one recipe from each side of my family, Dillon & Foley), roasted carrots & parsnips, butternut squash, rolls & cornbread.![]()
For dessert, I again tried a little of everything: Lemon Delight bars, my Apple Bread Pudding, a Pumpkin Whoopie Pie and a little scoop of ice cream. There was pies as well but I was too full for that.![]()
It really was a great day and I am very thankful for my family and all we have. I am going to bed tired and well fed tonight!
