Time to Dig Out (dinner 12.19.08)

I am blogging this morning because I fell asleep last night after my big chicken dinner! We got snow all afternoon and through the night so now it’s time to dig out. Here is the same shot of my back deck that I took yesterday, big difference!

100_2655.JPGMike has been doing most of the heavy work and I have been inside with William. I took Bruce for a walk last night and although it was pretty crazy it was kind of fun. I have lived here long enough that I have all the gear to be comfortable outside in blizzard weather so I loaded on the North Face head to toe and circled the neigborhood. Bruce wanted to run free so badly but I had to keep him on the leash so he didn’t get hit by a plow. He’ll get time at the park today I am sure. My chaotic trip to grocery store was worth it last night when we were eating a nice home cooked chicken dinner. There were lots of dishes involved but I had nothing but time to do them being stuck in the house. Along with the roasted chicken I made mashed red potatoes, some stuffing and asparagus. Mike is going to make a chicken soup with the leftover so we’ll be able to enjoy that later this weekend. Just like the shopping trip yesterday, I am realizing now that I shouldn’t have left my Christmas shopping until the last minute because it’s going to be a lot harder to get it done now that there is snow everywhere!!! Have a great weekend - snow or no snow!
