Cooking for Weight Loss
Saturday, January 31, 2009 10:06 No CommentsMany people tell me that they don’t know how to cook. My response is always that is isn’t hard at all and like all other things it takes practice, practice, practice. Knowing how to cook your own meals is essential…
Family Style (dinner 1.30.09)
Saturday, January 31, 2009 2:56 No CommentsWe dined “family style” tonight at Maggiano’s and it was a lot of fun. We were with Mike’s parents, his brother, sister-in-law and three nephews. There was so much food but the fun part is getting to try a little of everything. I was keeping my portions small and just having a sample of the things I liked but then dessert came and I put myself over the edge with that! I left there feeling fuller than I would have liked to but it was a night out with family and I fully enjoyed it…even with the discomfort afterwards. I am glad it’s the weekend and that I can have some time to do my work and clean up the house. I hand Will off to Mike when he’s home so I can do the housework but it works out for all of us because the guys get to spend their time together and I do what makes me happy (get a clean house). Have a good weekend!![]()

Motivated By Dinner (lunch 1.30.08)
Friday, January 30, 2009 20:06 1 CommentIt’s been a really productive Friday which not usually the case for me. I tend to lose steam by the end of the week but today I was motivated by our dinner plans at 6pm to stay on track throughout the day. I had help with Will which is the biggest determinant of getting stuff done these days so that of course aided my success. I snacked on Goldfish this morning and took a quick (late) lunch break this afternoon. I ran out to get myself a salad from Sebastian’s. I made it a little different than usual – mixed greens, carrots, onions, cucumbers, dry tuna, beets, kidney beans and a little blue cheese. It was all tossed together in balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I figure I got my veggies in for the day and now I can enjoy whatever I want at dinner. We are going to Maggiano’s which is family style Italian food — perfect because I am in the mood for pasta! I think it’ll be a fun night with the Jones Family! Have a great weekend everyone!![]()
