Waste Not (lunch 1.13.08)

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 17:04 No Comments

I had my leftover pizza from last night for my lunch today. I don’t usually make it a habit of having pizza two days in a row but for starters it was at least a healthy pizza and secondly I am sticking to my resolution from last year to not waste food. It was also a very quick lunch which was part of the plan because I am running out for a little bit and I want to go now so I beat afternoon traffic. I am cooking one of Mike’s favorite meals for his birthday dinner tonight. We usually like to go out to eat on birthdays but there is too much going on for him today so we will maybe save that for this weekend. I enjoyed that beautiful sunrise this morning and ever since the sun is nowhere to be found. Just another cold, gray, snowy day here in Boston…what a winter!

Snowy Sunrise (breakfast 1.13.09)

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 12:22 No Comments

If there is one nice thing about being up early it’s that you get to see the sunrise and this morning I saw a beautiful one. We still have a lot of snow around Boston so the colors were quite brilliant against the white backdrop. I am hoping a good amount of snow melts today though because we are getting “arctic” cold air the end of the week and anything that is left around will surely be frozen solid. Today is Mike’s birthday so we are going to have a little Jones family party tonight when he gets home from work…just the four of us, me, Will, Bruce & Mike. Hopefully it won’t be a marathon workday for him so that he can at least enjoy a little of his big day! I am going to go to mom’s group today because it’s the last time I can go…next week this time I will be teaching. For my breakfast today I had a bowl of Cinnamon Quaker Oatmeal Squares with skim milk and an apple (which I will eat later this morning).
