Healthy Food for Under $1.00

more because DevineCaroline has come up with a list of 20 healthy foods for under $1.00. What is great is that besides being healthy these foods are also great to help you with your weight loss!
1. Oats are high in fiber and buying in bulk makes them cheap – a dollar will buy you more than a weeks worth for healthy breakfasts.
2. Eggs are a great lean source of protein and you can get a
half-dozen for under $1.00. Eggs are not just for breakfast – you can
enjoy them for lunch or dinner too.
3. Kale is usually $1.00 a bunch and can be used in soups, stews or you
can just steam or saute it. This dark green, leafy vegetable is full of
fiber and nutrition.
4. Potatoes are a good-for you food as are sweet potatoes. Don’t forget to eat the skin for some added nutrition. Potatoes can be enjoyed for breakfast with eggs, in a salad for lunch, or as a side with dinner. Sweet potatoes also make a delicious afternoon snack and can cure a sweet craving.
5. Apples are low in calories and full of fiber. They are portion controlled and makes a great portable snack.
