Physical Activity Goes Beyond Weight Loss

“Physical inactivity is the most emergent public health problem of our time, apparent through the prevalence of chronic diseases and obesity,” said a physician today at the American College of Sports Medicine's (ACSM) Health & Fitness Summit & Exposition.
In terms of overall health and well-being exercise literally is medicine.
So although many of my blog posts are devoted to helping you lose weight through fitness and exercise, it’s important to keep in mind that your physical activity stretches well beyond the benefits you see on the scale. Keeping your body fit is a health insurance policy you can’t afford to pass up.
For the most part it doesn’t cost you anything to exercise and you can pretty much get a workout in anywhere. So choose whether you prefer the gym, at home, outdoors or a combination of the 3 to get in at least 30 minutes a day of exercise.
