So Many Salad Variations! (lunch 3.30.09)
Monday, March 30, 2009 17:39 No CommentsI am amazed that March is over tomorrow and we are already moving onto April. We are getting the April showers a few days early but the temperatures are slowing rising and hopefully we can safely say the worst of winter is behind us. I am so excited to go to California though — that will really feel like spring, maybe even like summer! It’s going to be a busy week trying to pack and prepare for the trip. It’s my first time traveling with a baby and I am not exactly sure what to expect. I’ve done some reading so I have a couple tips already. We like to take at least one trip a year so our plan is to get Will used to flying early and then he’ll be accustomed to it and I won’t worry as much as I am right now! I am settling back down to do some reading this afternoon after the busy morning I had. I just made myself another salad since I am trying to make sure it does not go to waste. Today I rolled a couple pieces of turkey with ham and cheese and sliced it up to add protein to the basic green salad. It’s interesting to see how many different salad ideas I can come up with so that I don’t get sick of eating the same thing over and over. I still can use beans, beef and shrimp to make three more variations!

Getting ahead (breakfast 3.30.09)
Monday, March 30, 2009 13:26 No CommentsI had to get out of the house for an early dentist appointment which I forgot I had so that made for a little chaos this morning. I packed some cereal and a banana in a bag which I will eat at some point this morning — probably after my appointment. The day should slow down once I get back home and thankfully I got all my work done yesterday so now I am just trying to get as far ahead on things as I can because next week we are heading to San Diego!!

Cream Eggs: Chemical Colored Cocktails
Monday, March 30, 2009 10:54 No CommentsFlickr: SvadilfariWith Easter fast approaching and Peter Cottontail bearing down on us, Cadbury Crème Eggs, the famous chocolate eggs filled with sugary yolk-ish cream, are once again hitting supermarket shelves. Like marshmallow Peeps, the eggs have earned a cult following, arguably edging out chocolate rabbits as the quintessential holiday treat, but some consumer groups aren’t sold on them. …
