Share The Fare (dinner 6.17.09)

Not all people are good at sharing food. Mike for example is only good for sharing one bite of his meal. My sister and I on the other hand are great splitters! We have similar taste preferences, so when we see two things we like on the menu we order them both and share. That’s just what we did tonight. I met up with her after swim class since I was in her neighborhood and we had dinner together. We walked up to a local Italian place and put in our order for Zucchini Parmesan and Spinach Ravioli in Pomodoro sauce. Both were fantastic and perfect for a post-swim dinner. Although you wouldn’t notice it, this meal actually had quite a lot of vegetables in it. The zucchini in the parmesan was roasted not fried and the spinach ravioli really did have spinach in them, plus the sauce was all tomatoes and very flavorful! Pretty good veggie intake without a salad I think. I am glad I had that PB&J for lunch because as usual I was hungry when I got out of the pool but not steal-Will’s-Cheerios hungry! I am trying to get to bed soon because tomorrow morning is going to be busy. I’ll have no problem falling asleep once I get to — I am tired after my non-stop day!

Do you share your food? Do you share just a bite or will you split two meals like my sister and I do? It’s fun to see the different opinions on this topic — some people are very possessive over their meals (that’s directed at you Dad & Mike) and others are more relaxed.

Cardio with the Kids

Today I snuck in some cardio while I played soccer in the backyard with the boys. If

Scoring Frenzy

-Set up goals all over the yard (I used cones, but use whatever you find)

-Toss out a ball for each person playing (grab any ball, we used a mix)

-Dribble and score on as many goals as you can in one minute (don’t forget the celebration dance).

- Then jump into one goal. While the gang is shooting, side slide from cone to cone.

I’m off to watch So You Think You Can Dance and shut the windows in my house. I heard more rain is on its way.
