Farewell Lunch (6.29.09)
Monday, June 29, 2009 20:17 No CommentsSince Mike is leaving for New York this afternoon and will be gone for the week, I brought Will into town and we all had lunch together at Wagamama. I was trying to get some veggies in my lunch so that I can make something simple like eggs for myself tonight. I tried a new dish today – yasai chili men and was happy with it so now I have a second options (to my always favorite moyashi soba). We shared some dumplings to start and even got to sit outside because there was a break in the rain and the temperatures are actually up! On my way out of Faneuil Hall I was feeling sorry for myself so I stopped at Starbucks and ordered not just a latte, but a mocha! I did get skim milk, no whip cream and just 2 pumps of mocha (versus the standard 4) but it was splurge and it did make me feel a little better as I drank it! Now I have to keep mocha mix out of my house or my homemade plain lattes will become mochas too often…![]()
The next thing I have to do is pack for me, Will & Bruce. I am going to tackle that one person (or dog) at a time between this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow morning. I hope to get it all done and maybe have some time leftover to work on my skirt before I skip town. I am actually getting close to finishing it and I am excited to show it off!
Here is what was in my lunch per the Wagamama menu:
yasai chili men
stir-fried shiitake and button mushrooms, fried tofu,
squash, red onion, peppers, snow peas and scallion
served with whole wheat noodles in a chili sauce made
from chilies, ginger, garlic, onion, lemongrass,
sweet red pepper and tomato

Amanda Dillon) for a “TV Guide” channel special. The daytime drama queen is super fit and totally down-to-earth. Clearly she exercises regularly, but she also splurges. Her favorite sweet treat: Nutella! She loved SELF’s fast, effective “8 Minutes to Slim” routine from the July issue because it fits her crazy busy schedule.
