Rainy Day BBQ (dinner 6.24.09)

We took our last swim class this afternoon and then went over to a friend’s house for a BBQ. The rain kept us inside (while one brave soul did the grilling) but it was still a fun night. As we were driving home I was saying to Mike that I wish it was a Friday so we could have stayed longer but since tomorrow is a workday we had to get going. The rest of the week for me should be good – tomorrow for my birthday I am meeting a friend for lunch, then I have sewing class and lastly I’ll be meeting for drinks for someone’s going away party. We always go out to dinner for my birthday but since there was a lot going on we have plans to go out Friday instead. I am just hoping that Will gives me a full night of sleep for my present — that would be a great birthday gift!

For dinner tonight I had a cheeseburger, salad and a Greek pasta salad. I also had a beer and a piece of my carrot cake. I made way too much salad so the host sent me home with some leftovers of that and some of the cake because she didn’t want it hanging around her house. I am sure I can get rid of it — I have plenty of family around to dish it out too. My brother is watching Will for me tomorrow night so I’ll be sure to leave him a big piece!

I really wanted and needed a latte today but I never had time to make myself one. I was very tempted to stop at one of the five Starbucks I drove by but I didn’t and although it was hard, it’s actually getting easier to “just say no”.

Just About Time… (lunch 6.24.09)

It’s just about time for a latte! My day has been a long one already but thankfully it’s been a pleasant one. I bought Will a couple small new toys yesterday and they seem to be keeping him more interested than his older toys. While he has played, I have been able to get my salad and carrot cake all ready for the BBQ we are going to tonight so that’s one thing off my plate. It’s time for lunch and a dog walk then I am going to get the bags packed for swim class because we’ll be going straight from there to the party. My lunch today consists of yogurt, Kashi crackers and a peach. I feel okay having no veggies because I just made a huge salad and I know I’ll have plenty at dinner tonight. I have done so many dishes between last night and today (chicken dinner, carrot cake, salad prep) that it’s tempting to go buy my latte instead of make it but I think I can handle a couple more small ones and stick to my plan!

I headed to Beverly Hills to check out the sweat shop where Jennifer Lopez hones her hot body and bumped into (literally) none other than JENNIFER LOPEZ (ahhhhh!) and the twins (DOUBLE ahhhhhhh!!!) in the parking garage.
