Running motivation!

WABC weather anchor Heidi Jones continues to share training tales as she and her team gear up to run 13.1 miles at the New York City Half Marathon on August 16th:

A lot of runners like running because it is a solitary sport. There is no reliance on another runner's performance to determine your finish. For better or worse, you are in charge of your destiny. There are no assists, no defense or offense--there is only you! However, running can, at times, be lonely.

There is something comforting in running with others and sharing the experience because there are weeks when its harder to get off your butt and just do the run. That?s when it helps to have a running partner or as I call it a buddy system. When you know someone is relying on you to go for a run, you?ll do it. As my dad says, running with someone, keeps you honest with your weekly mileage.
