Tiger Tail Rolling Muscle Massager

Wednesday, July 22, 2009 0:01 No Comments

IMG_3788.JPGThe weekend is finally catching up with me and I’m tired and sore today! I’d love a massage, but that’s not happening so I’m doing the next best thing. I’m literally rolling out (like a rolling pin) the aches and pains in my arms, shins, and calves with my Tiger Tail Rolling Muscle Massager
while I bake cookies with my boys. Have you tried it? My sister introduced me to the roller when we were training for the half marathon in the spring and now I’m hooked. I
IMG_3781.JPGuse it to self massage my tired muscles after hard workouts (feels amazing on my shins post soccer) and while I’m stretching in front of the TV at night. I love it; it makes my sore muscles happy. By the way,

Recovering from a Diet Slip

Tuesday, July 21, 2009 23:48 No Comments

Most social events around food involve making mistakes and slipping up around your diet plan. Some people give in to the all or nothing trap and really get off track or even give up entirely. Some people learn from their…

Ab Watch-Week 2!

It’s week two of tummy-toning Tuesday here at Self.com!
Follow along (and maybe score a few tips for yourself!) as a SELF staffer makes
over her middle one week at a time.

The week started off a success! Before class (which
is held at Derek Jeter’s 24 Hour Fitness) we got weighed in, and I lost about 2
lbs! Not bad! I also just found out that 5 Square Meals, the food service that
is providing us meals for the duration of the program, is starting. That should
really help. Can’t wait! I’m really having a hard time figuring out what it is
I can eat. This way I won’t even have to think about it. They are only charging
us $20 a day for 3 meals, which is about how much I spend anyway so totally
worth it! As the week went on I was pretty strong, but had one slight setback…meal_plan.jpg

Weak Weight Loss Partner?

Tuesday, July 21, 2009 18:47 No Comments

Yesterday I was working with one of my weight loss clients who told me that he had just cut his workout partner loose. When I asked him why, he said that his partner was only holding him back and slowing…

Leftover Pesto Lunch (7.21.09)

Tuesday, July 21, 2009 16:33 No Comments

No surprise here, I had my leftover pesto veggie & pasta for lunch. I am heading out to play & learn class with Will shortly so I ate a little earlier than usual – otherwise it would be 3 o’clock and I’d be searching for a bar to eat in the car! That and I was itching to have it because it was so good last night. I used a few free minutes that I had this morning to work on my skirt – it’s nearly complete now and I am excited about that. I am going to get started on making Will’s Halloween costume soon because as you can see I am pretty slow with this new hobby. I don’t think tonight will be very good for grilling so I have to think up something else for dinner and then stop for ingredients while I am out in the car. I am actually enjoying this rainy day because it’s been going along at a nice relaxed pace, I am sure I’ll be talking differently after a few days of gray but for today I can appreciate it!
