Organics or Junk Foods?
Thursday, August 27, 2009 22:46 Organics seem to be the newest way to go for better health benefits but some people seem to think just because they are organic makes them healthy or low-calorie. Think again. Yes they are free from pesticides, additives and better for our planet. But organics can be “junk foods” too.
For example, organic soda may be made without the HFCS. That’s a good thing but even organic white sugar or honey is just as bad when it’s excessive. There’s still about 13 teaspoons of it in most twelve ounce sodas. Organic chips, pastries and other goodies may not contain trans fat but any excessive amount of fat in the diet doesn’t promote health either.
