Good to be Back in Uniform!

Monday, September 28, 2009 21:27 No Comments

DSCN0256.JPGIt wasn’t lightening, so even rain couldn’t keep us off the soccer field yesterday morning. We played 90 minutes in a steady drizzle. By the end of the game my cleats were soaked and the ball was water-logged, but I loved every minute of it!!! Although I enjoy triathlons and competing as an individual, there’s nothing like being part of a team (especially my team, Clinton United). We play hard, but our fun factor is top priority. After missing the first two games for triathlon events, it was good to be back in uniform. Thanks for the laughs ladies! Oh and by the way, we won 6-0 and I’m sore today. I’m off to Zumba. Happy Monday!

*To avoid the wet and stinky factor, I stuck my Stuffitts into my drenched cleats.
IMG_3998.JPGThey were featured in the Wacky (but it works!) Wednesday: Stuffitts entry and I’m a big fan. But if you don’t own them, fill your wet sneaks with newspaper to help dry them out quicker!

Closed, Closed, Open! (breakfast & lunch 9.28.09)

I was getting nervous that we were not going to find an apple orchard that was open today but after a few phone calls we did. I guess some places only allow picking on the weekends and then others are closed just on Mondays but we are on our way to a place a couple towns over now that meets our needs just fine. This morning I had a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios with skim milk and a banana. For lunch I had half of a turkey and cheese sub on wheat and a few Goldfish crackers. I am saving room for an apple or two!

Weekend Wrap-Up (9.26.09-9.27.09)

Monday, September 28, 2009 14:03 No Comments

I am sad to see the weekend wrap up because that means my friend is headed back home to Washington DC but at least Mike is on vacation this upcoming week to keep me company! We are actually out at his parents’ house in Western Massachusetts now which is a treat this time of year because we can go leaf peeping, apple picking and pumpkin picking too! We are just spending a couple of days but they will be fun filled. The weekend was great! We took Amy around to see how Boston has changed (no more big green expressway down the middle of it) and we ate at as many good spots as we could…it’s so much more fun when you are not living on the college budget that we used to be on! Will and Bruce made fast friends with her and they were both sad to see her go like I was. Here are a few pictures of the fun we had and then of course the food. Meals were a bit sporadic because we were on the go a lot but now that the weekend is over, I’ll get back to three-a-day.

The fun…

Time to Catch Up! (dinner 9.25.09)

Monday, September 28, 2009 13:54 No Comments

My friend Amy is here and we enjoyed a great dinner at a restaurant in the South End. All the plates were made to be shared so we had a nice tasting of a variety of things. Will enjoyed a few bites himself! The rest of the night will be spent catching up and then tomorrow we’ll be giving her the tour of Boston…A LOT has changed around here in these last several years since we finished school! Have a great weekend!

We chose (from top left): Grilled Bread with White Bean Spread & Olive Tapenade, Fish Tacos, Gnocchi with Lamb Bolognese & Ricotta, Strip Steak with Fingerling Potatoes and Spinach…and a glass of wine. If you like the look of it, make a reservation at 28 Degrees – I highly recommend it!
