Burn 5-10 percent more per workout If you’re someone who loves to do cardio workouts or spinning classes this may be just the tip for you…

A study performed by Jie Kang and his associates showed that those participants who started their cardio workouts slowly and then finished their routines (the 2nd half) at a fast pace burned more calories.

When they compared their findings to the group who started out fast for the 1st half of their workout and then finished slower they saw that the other group of “strong finishers” burned 5-10% more fat per workout. In this case the researchers are looking at fat burned through caloric expenditure which they then translate into stored fat burned. Of course, there are many variables that dictate whether the calories burned will come from stored fat or other energy sources, but in either case the energy expenditure was greater in the group that finished their cardio workouts at a faster pace.
