You Don’t Have to Give Up Your Cardio
Tuesday, March 30, 2010 20:00 In some people’s minds there’s an all or nothing type of mentality. While there are times that this can serve a useful purpose, when it comes to designing a well rounded workout program it may not be appropriate.
You see, some people only do yoga, or they only run, or they only take spinning classes, so when they think of adding in some resistance training to boost their current results they just shrug it off. The truth is, though, that adding in a little weight training can be an easy fix to a more well-rounded workout program.
For example, you can really get away with sneaking in 2 to 3 days a week of 20 – 30 minute resistance workouts and get great results. This type of change shouldn’t really alter your current plan too much especially if you just subtract 10 minutes or so from your typical cardio workouts.
The big take away is that you can still stick with the cardio based workouts you like to do while adding in some weight lifting exercises to enjoy all the benefits that come along with strength training!
