As Heidi Klum always says, "One day you're 'Yin' and the next day you're out." Wait. Maybe that's not exactly what she says.
Either way, the fact remains: Yin Yoga is growing in popularity; and with good reason. This specific practice serves a different purpose than your standard Hatha or Ashtanga.
As yoga teacher and Yin expert Paul Grilley explains, "While 'Yang' exercises like weight training and more athletic forms of yoga are important for muscular and cardiovascular health, 'Yin' yoga is about deliberately trying to traction the joint tissues called fascia."
