Restaurant Charges for Unfinished Food

Thursday, December 18, 2008 10:15 No Comments

Flickr: Zeetz JonesGuys have you ever taken a girl out to dinner and she orders the priciest thing on the menu, only to take a few bites and then say she’s full! I hate that. And if you’re like me, you imagine opening your wallet and flushing dollar bills down the toilet. Well, a Japanese restaurant in New York is…

Two Days Left! (dinner 12.17.08)

Thursday, December 18, 2008 2:11 No Comments

The afternoon went much more smoothly than the morning did and I was able to make up for some lost time thanks to my two sleepy boys keeping their eyes closed for a while. Mike was in charge of dinner which was a big help. He got to choose the spread since he was stopping at the store on his way home for ingredients. He chose waffles with scrambled eggs and center cut bacon. We usually make whole wheat waffles to get some fiber in but they were all out of that mix (or so he told me, ha). I added a bowl of grapes to my meal for some fiber but given the size of the meal and all the protein from the eggs I am sure it’ll keep me full long enough to get through the rest of the evening. Now it’s back to work since I have two hands free for typing. I will have another Q&A segment up by the end of the week, right after I finish working on some additional blog posts that will be featured on www.MomLogic.com next week and the week after. There will be five of them, each a different topic and I’ll put up links when they go live! I can’t believe there are only two days left in the week — these first three days flew by!

What a day… (lunch 12.17.08)

Wednesday, December 17, 2008 21:17 No Comments

Oh my, what a day it has been. I am just now getting to blog lunch because this is the first chance I have had. The day started off okay, we drove Mike to work and were treated with Starbucks in return.

100_2612.JPGI went on to the mall to pick up our Christmas cards since I was already out in the car then headed home after that. Well, that’s when things went astray. It was just one of those days when I could not get a solid stretch of sleep out of Will so therefore I could not get things done. Besides addressing the cards and the usual housework that needs to be done, I actually have real work to do so unless things go much better this afternoon, well evening now, I am guessing it’s going to be a late night. It’s unrealistic for me to think that I can get a 6 week old baby to cooperate on my terms but most days he is so good at eating, playing and sleeping for at least 2 hours (then repeat) that I get spoiled! I am so happy that I can stay home with him and have the ability to still work a little, I’ll just need to find a way to balance the two better as he gets older. For my lunch I reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner, twice because I got pulled away the first time. I actually only ended up eating half of the plate because I had to do it fast and it really wasn’t very good after two trips in the microwave. I had a yogurt later because I was still hungry.

100_2619.JPGThank you so much for all the cookie suggestions…that is something that I absolutely did not have the time to look for today so I am thrilled that I can just check back here and pick one of those that you recommended. I am sure anyone else who has been invited to a cookie swap is grateful too – they all sound amazing!! Keep them coming too, I love using recipes that have been tested already and I’ll keep these in my cookbook for future use! Right now I am having a cup of tea and enjoying a down moment…here are my two sleeping boys, let’s hope this lasts a little while!
