The Dead Sea Scrolls, Crystal Skulls, Ark of the Covenant – but old booze? Who’d have thought it!

This week, museum officials in New Zealand have begun slowly thawing a crate of Scotch whiskey, which has been frozen in Antarctic for more than 100 years.

First discovered in 2006, the centenarian hooch was abandoned by British explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton, during his 1908 Antarctic expedition.
