A recent study reported in the American Journal of Clinical NutritionWater showed results that those who drank plain water as their primary beverage had a better diet in that they ate more fiber, less calories, and consumed less calorie-dense foods.

Now, this does not mean that everyone who drinks a lot of water has a perfect diet, it just shows that many people who drink water as their primary beverage make healthier and more nutritious choices when it comes to food.

It is recommended that we drink 8 8-ounce glasses of water each day, but remember that is just a recommendation. You can get water from other foods such as fruits, vegetables and broth based soups.

If you drink lots of sugary beverages, no matter what your diet is like, you should start switching out those beverages for more water. This will save you calories, money, and will make room for more nutritious foods in your diet.
