[Forum] 60 Minutes a Day Keeps the Doctor Away
Thursday, October 1, 2009 13:33When I joined my first job in 2006 as a management professional, I was quite fit and my weight was just perfect, but soon as I continued working and months passed my body started losing shape and I gained weight quickly. I am 5’7″ tall and my weight became 82 kgs from 68 kgs within 8 months, and I realized the threat when I started feeling back pain and joint pains at this early age of 26.
My excuses continued regarding my busy life style and I gained another 5 kgs that made me a bulky guy of 87 kgs; that was really alarming. I came to know about the red signal when I got my medical check up done; no surprise, my blood pressure had gone up and my BMI had become tarnished drastically.
That’s it…enough…that was an eye opener and I decided to lose weight by any means. I started with dieting, which made me feel less energetic, then I switched to some thing organic like serious workouts, a complete mix of cardio and weight lifting. I started off with a 40 minutes workout per day and shifted to 60 minutes a day.
It’s been one year now since I have joined a gym, now I have become quite regular in spite of my hectic working schedule. Now I spend one hour completely, at least 4 times a week. I am now 78 kgs (reduced from 87 to 78). I do a mix of half an hour cardio and weight training each. Still planning to lose another 8 kgs in the next 6 months.
I must conclude 60 minutes a day can keep the doctors away. We run after many things in life, but we ignore our health especially our weight management, which can be done easily by giving 60 minutes a day, 4 days a week. Try this, you will see results; there is no short cut…
Thanks for patient reading!
