How to Bring Health, Wellness, & Weight Loss to Your Company
Sunday, May 23, 2010 0:37My last post linked the increase of workplace activity to lower obesity rates. Now, I want to shed some light on how we can start a new movement in workplace wellness programs.
First off, make no mistake about it: Wellness leads to weight loss. When you start moving more, eating healthier, decreasing stress, and improving your overall well-being, you'll start losing excess pounds.
How can you entice your company to institute health and wellness programs? First, you and others within your company must show interest. Also, the board or managers will need to see “the numbers” on how investing in these programs will positively affect their bottom line. Next, someone will need to spearhead the movement and invite a qualified wellness coordinator to set the program up. Lastly, consistent participation and marked employee improvement (in terms of production, recruitment, and turnover) will be needed in order for the company to continue implementing these wellness programs.
