No Need for Long Marathon Workouts
Tuesday, August 4, 2009 19:32I’ve found that one major reason people don’t start a workout program is that they think they need to put hours in at the gym to get the results they are looking for, but nothing could be further from the truth…
There are hundreds of recent studies showing that just 30 minutes of exercise can yield big benefits. These can be high intensity, interval based workouts for advanced exercisers, or they could just be brisk walks for beginners.
You should also know that longer workouts don’t necessarily equal better results. The reason being is that marathon-type workouts can create greater levels of stress in your body and make it more difficult to recover. This will leave you unmotivated and too sore to exercise the next day and your goal should really be to get into a regular exercise routine.
Stick with short, yet effective workouts done most days of the week and you will be well on your way to reaching your health and fitness goals!
