Reduce stroke risk with intense exercise After a nine year study of over 3,000 people, Dr. Joshua Willey and the Northern Manhattan Study concluded that intense exercise and activity significantly cut the risk of stroke in seniors (namely men).

Here's what Dr. Wiley had to say: "We were somewhat surprised that the total energy expended was not associated with risk of ischemic stroke, but the intensity itself was."

Participants swam, played racquet sports, and other moderate to heavy intensity activities that seemed to provide better protection from having stroke. If you’re already adding in a few days of intense exercise then you have more validation that it will help keep you healthy, and if you were on the fence about starting a new program hopefully this information gives you one more reason to begin today!
