My oven has had a nice vacation this summer because when in use, it heats up the house a lot. All those hot, humid days we had meant the grill was our go-to choice for cooking dinner but since things have cooled down significantly (this week at least) the oven is back in action. I made a cornbread this afternoon to go along with our grilled porkchops, steamed broccoli and buttermilk chive mashed potatoes. I’m not quite ready to make a beef stew in there (cooktime = 2+ hours) but it was nice to have something warm and fresh from the oven for a change.

I tired both my boys out today. Bruce got a nice trip to the park to play ball as well as his usual walks. Will is crawling and pulling himself up everywhere so I just keep moving around and he follows right behind. I now get better naps out of him because he is more active but unfortunately his wake-up time is still pretty early. That being said I am going to go get ready to go to bed myself!
