Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone!

Turns out more than one person had a good chuckle at my lap counting (I count touches, not full laps) and at my bike riding stories. So let me clear the air, I’m a novice at this Triathlon stuff. Put me on the soccer field, in a pair of running shoes, and even in a Zumba class and I’m golden. But riding a bike and swimming in open water completely take me out of my comfort zone. This whole Triathlon thing started last year when I challenged myself (and my “Book Club”) to train for something NEW after giving birth to my fourth son. It was a lofty goal at the time, but I finished with a smile! So, this summer I dusted off my bike, dug out my goggles, and re-challenged myself to two more triathlons. I set new fitness goals and I’m learning more and more as I train (of course I still have a lot to learn). I’m in it for the FUN of it and I’m laughing at myself along the way! To those seasoned triathletes out there, I take my hat off to you. Mastering three sports is not easy. But the point of this post is… if I can do it, so can you! Stepping out of your comfort zone is HARD, but the rewards are worth it (and just think of all the stories you’ll have to tell along the way). Now it’s your turn, find a new challenge at active.comJ
