Young babies have a natural, inbuilt ability to know when they are hungry and when they’ve had enough to eat.

However with time, that begins to change, and we develop habits which cause us to eat when we don’t need food, often allowing environmental factors to dictate when it’s time for a meal or snack.

The Yo-Yo dieting that many people put themselves through, can also mess up their ability to read the body’s hunger signals, and eventually it can make it more difficult to know when and how much to eat.
