According to a recent article in the Wall Street Journal, there are three good reasons for you and I to start making bugs (yes, as in insects) a regular part of our diet:

  1. They’re highly nutritious: High in protein, low in fat, and packed with B vitamins, iron and zinc.
  2. Raising bugs requires less food, water, and energy than livestock, making it a much more earth-friendly food source.
  3. There are more of them than there are of us. Over 1,000 types of insects can be eaten.
